For borrowers, finding the right lender and loan product can be a time consuming and frustrating experience, particularly  when you are not living in Australia. With the increasing amount of options available in the mortgage lending market, there has been a massive swing from borrowers simply approaching one or two lenders, to using a mortgage broker to identify lending options and assist with organising their home loan or investment.

Craig Vaughan, Director of Map Mortgage Brokers, graduated with a degree in law from Queensland University of Technology. During his studies Craig had the opportunity to study at Nottingham Trent Law School in the UK for an academic year and it was during this time that he and his wife, earning excellent income, thought about buying property back home for their return. Unfortunately they found it very hard to find someone back in Australia who;

1. knew how to arrange finance for those living abroad and the issues that arise, and
2. a broker they could trust to treat their home loan application like it was their own.

On return from overseas, Craig completed his degree but decided to take a different direction and head into finance. Craig initially worked for another mortgage company as the non resident and expat loan expert for 3 years before starting his own company, MAP Mortgage Brokers.
