MAP specializes in Expat and Temporary / Non resident lending, and for good reason. Expat and temporary resident lending is a complex and specialized field and just like other professions, one can not be an expert across all practice areas. It is similar to wanting solicitor advice on purchasing property. You go to a lawyer that specializes in conveyancing law, not one that specializes in criminal law. The same principle applies here. If you are an Expatriate or Temporary Resident, to ensure you get the right advice on all the issues and avoid having your application declined or delayed, you need to use a brokerage firm that specializes in this area. This is what MAP does and we are very good at it.

 There is an absence in the market place of professional expat and non resident lending experts that truly understand Australian bank policy and the Australian taxation and legal implications that apply to being an expat or non resident. Whilst we recognize we are not the only company that purports to specialize in this area, from our review of the competition it is our belief that you can not get the holistic expert knowledge and assistance that MAP provides from any other mortgage firm within Australia. This absence of professional expat and temporary resident mortgage consultants means our clientele come from all parts of Australia, and from all over the world.

Because of this wide base of clientele we simply can not be everywhere at once. Thankfully though, with the aid of technology, we can arrange finance when no one else can via email, fax, skpye and phone. This results in about 90% of applications being lodged and approved without ever meeting in person. Wherever possible though, and to cater for those that would like to meet in person, we travel extensively throughout Australia and the world so we can meet you in person if you so choose.

We are based in Brisbane but are in Sydney and Melbourne weekly, Singapore and Hong Kong at a minimum of once a month and Dubai and London at least once every two months. Naturally though, the more interest and demand from a given area will mean further trips for us to that area. Craig Vaughan, Director of Map Mortgage Brokers, graduated with a degree in law from Queensland University of Technology. During his studies Craig had the opportunity to study at Nottingham Trent Law School in the UK for an academic year and it was during this time that he and his wife, earning excellent income, thought about buying property back home for their return. Unfortunately they found it very hard to find someone back in Australia who;

1. knew how to arrange finance for those living abroad and the issues that arise, and
2. a broker they could trust to treat their home loan application like it was their own.

On return from overseas, Craig completed his degree but decided to take a different direction and head into finance. Craig initially worked for another mortgage company as the non resident and expat loan expert for 3 years before starting his own company, MAP Mortgage Brokers.
